FRC helps inspire us and teaches us important engineering and problem-solving skills. Every year, we work hard to improve our abilities and set new goals for ourselves as a team. We want to inspire other students to discover robotics, just like the Robojacks inspired us. FRC has been an amazing learning experience for us, and this is just the beginning.
This is the 2nd year we have volunteered for Unified Robotics. Both years we had three teams and several volunteers at the event to help run concessions, check-in's and do FRC demonstrations.
We started with one team and have grown to four! We help mentor team 60799 by giving feedback in both the coding and robot game and also feedback on their presentation.
During our Regional FLL Tournament we helped a young team troubleshoot their robot!
This year the NMRC building was open at the Beltrami Fair! We had a full field set up for patrons to come and check out what FRC is about. They were also able to drive the big robots.
We also had Sphero Indi, Sphero Bolt, and RVR to show younger kids and help inspire them.
Several teams in the NMRC Conference were there with demos and information for passerbys.
The Northern Minnesota Robotics Conference building is in our town! We spent over 40 hours helping build braces for the walls, made stakes, picked up trash, stained wood, and helped build the field.
We volunteered for the 4th of July parade to make ourselves more known in the public, and spread the word about robotics. We went with the ROBOJACKS (our mentor team) and handed out candy on our awesome float! As a fun gimmick we also drove around robots to dispense out the candy. This was a great way to deliver the candy to little kids!
We enjoy our teambuilding time! We often play basketball, soccer, volleyball or just have fun with each other!
During our debut tournament, we met several teams and learned many of the ins and outs of competetition
Many teams were shocked at how well we did under pressure and also helped guide us in our first big event. FIRST and it's values shows everywhere!
As a rookie team, we decided rotating roles would be the best way to find out what niche we preferred. We are all learning and helping each other using our various unique skills.
